Drops

Drops® are the award-winning collection of simple, durable attachments that improve the sound of real drums naturally. Unlike sticky gels and tape, Drops work with weight: they reduce sustain and take out overtones — using nothing but gravity and air.

Goodbye gels 🗑

Sticking something to the head is a thing of the past. Adhesive suffocates the head. Tape leaves residue. Gels run in the sun and under stage lights. All of it can go.

The right weight for every drum

From the restrained 40 g to the heavy 200 g: Drops give you and your producer a tool for dialling in every snare, every Rack Tom and every Floor Tom individually.

  • 40 g — small toms, subtle correction
  • 60 g — snare and Rack Toms
  • 120 g — larger toms
  • 200 g — Floor Toms, maximum effect

Active Gate — control without choking the tone

The secret of Drops is air. Instead of sticking to the head, they lie on it. The flexible silicone holder lets the drop lift off briefly on the hit — the natural tone of the drum comes through — and it falls straight back to cut sustain and overtones. The heavier the drop, the harder the gate.

Two Drops on a snare

On. Off. Done.

The moulded silicone holder grips any standard tension rod. The clamp fit holds rock solid and can still be moved in the middle of a set. Press on to attach, pull off to release. (Patent pending)

Built to stay

Gels are disposable. Drops are not. The rugged silicone holder is double-stitched through die-cut industrial felt. No moving parts, nothing that wears out.

Recycled felt, recycled steel, PVC-free, vegan, plastic-free packaging.

Technical notes

Compatibility

Drops are currently not compatible with:

  • wood hoops
  • oversized vintage tension rods (round, slotted), as found on some Sonor kits

We hope to support these in future. ✌️
